Training

  • To ensure your business has the information and support it needs to provide families dealing with Autism an enjoyable experience in your establishment.
  • Not all businesses are conducive to being sensory friendly, but being Autism Aware and having support from the CU Autism Network is extremely important in having a unified community.

Training Includes:

  • Consultation and on site tour of facility
  • Review procedures and processes
  • Implementation of Plan
  • An Autism Aware Cling and Magnet
  • Annual Certificate of Completion
  • Listing on the CUAN website and Social Media Venues with link to your website of completion and training
  • A Certified Autism Aware Badge for your website

OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

  1. ROUND-UP for Autism Awareness
    • Join local businesses and round up purchases to the nearest dollar amount.
    • Be on the list of other businesses the participate in the Round-Up and Autism Aware program
  2. DISCOUNTS/INCENTIVES
    • Give families that use the Autism Aware Card a discount off services or merchandise.
    • Donate a portion of proceeds to the CU Autism network as an incentive.
    • Give preferential seating if there is a wait.

    • Donations help CUAN support events for local families and to spread awareness throughout the community.
    • CUAN is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
    • All donations are tax deductible.

The Autism Aware Card will offer:

  • Preferential seating and understanding of the sensory environment
  • Discounts on food, services and/or merchandise
  • Ability to bring special food for a member of your family
  • Special requests when ordering
  • Ability to order from a picture menu if applicable
  • Management and staff that have been educate on behaviors associated with Autism – wait time, verbal/nonverbal, eye contact, stimming etc.
